Biographical Sketch

    I-Chun Hung is currently a researcher in the Artificial Intelligence Research Group, Intelligent Solution Technology Section, Green Energy & System Integration R&D Department, China Steel Corporation, Taiwan. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Washington, Seattle, USA. He was working on two projects. The first is to apply non-invasive physiological monitoring and machine learning algorithm in virtual reality/augmented reality/mixed reality for real-time measurement of flow state. The other is to apply virtual reality/augmented reality/mixed reality technologies in middle school STEAM courses and to develop guidelines for instruction and learning. He received the Ph.D. in Information Management at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan in January 2016. In 2012-2013, he received a one-year grant from National Science Council, Taiwan and performed research regarding human-computer interaction at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, USA. Areas of his research cover Data Analytics for Adaptive Applications,” Learning Sciences & Technologies,” and “System Interaction Strategies & Human Factors; his research interests include Adaptive Learning, Interactive Technologies, Human Interface TechnologiesEducational Big Data, Educational Robot, Mobile & Ubiquitous Learning, and Gamification. As of now, he has published 33 academic papers, including 11 journal articles in professional journals such as Computers & Education, Educational Technology Research & Development, Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, Interactive Learning Environments, and Interacting with Computers. He serves as reviewers for Educational Technology & Society and Smart Learning Environments. He has been also invited to be a culture reviewer for three research projects supervised by Institutional Review Board of Washington University in St. Louis, USA.
